The Light At The End Of The Tunnel.....

Vault

Well I thought that our season was over after the poor show at Bolton, a dismal second half display and a seemingly dispirited team playing without passion or confidence. The feeling I got from the fans at that game was similar to mine. My heart was still certain of escape but my head was winning the argument. Yet after picking up 4 points from the last 6 and a couple of decent performances with noisy full houses behind us and I have hope again. Hull continue their abysmal run, we look euro contenders compared to them, the Shearer bounce hasn't happened for the skunks and Blackburn persist in their attempt to creep into the bottom 3. The season may not be dead after all.

We all know that we have a tough run in but that may help us. We are expected to get nothing on Sunday, nothing against Man USA and nothing against Villa, who seem to have a clocked up more wins at the Riverside in recent years than we have. But both Arsenal and Man USA will have their attention slightly distracted when they face us as they have much bigger games to consider and Villa seem to have hit the buffers and 4th spot is now out of the question. Just the right time for a typical Boro moment. That leaves two games that, in my opinion, are winnable. The skunks away, oh how I would love to send them down, and West Ham on the last day of the season in a nothing at stake game for them. Maybe I am just clutching at straws or building myself up again only to be smacked around the chops and told to come to my senses. Who knows!!

One thing for sure is that if we pull of the great escape then the feeling of joy and relief will be one close to the feelings we shared after Basle, Staeua and at the Millennium Stadium. As I take my seat at the Emirates I will look skywards and pray that God has his Boro shirt on. So let's pass round the straws, grip one firmly, cross your fingers, ignore what your head might say and let your heart win the day.

WHEN WE FIND OURSELVES IN TIMES OF TROUBLE
THERE IS ONE THING WE AGREE
WE'LL ALWAYS BE LOYAL TO MFC
MFC MFC MFC MFC
WE'LL ALWAYS BE LOYAL TO MFC.
