Minutes of Meeting 14
Date: Thursday 13 September 2007
Venue: Middlesbrough Ironopolis Club
Time: 7:30pm
Item Description Action
1.0 Flags
Spirit of Steaua - The feedback from the club was that they were over the moon with the flag. JD and GT attended a meeting on the morning of the Birmingham game with the safety committee where permission was given to fly the flag. MFC also advised that T12M could use the cinder track around the perimeter of the pitch if required.
Heritage Flags - one of the flags needs to be repaired. This may have been caused when placing the flags between the 'A' boards. It was suggested that going forward, the flags are put in pole first, rather than flag first.
There was a suggestion made that the flags are flown at the end of a game, provided we were the winning team. GT will discuss further with James and Steve.
MOSC advised they would be displaying some country flags along the east stand before the Sunderland game on 22 September. Everyone must be aware that flags already displayed by fans must not be moved and T12M or MOSC flags must work around this.
MOSC suggested the Surfer flag is washed, however on reflection it was felt that this may be a mammoth task and would be discussed further at the end of the 2007/2008 season.
2.0 Carling Cup Anniversary
On 29 February 2008 it will be exactly four years to the date since MFC lifted the Carling Cup at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff - and what a day that was!! T12M to ask their family and friends what they day meant to them and if the general opinion was to commemorate the occasion.
3.0 MSS
David Dyson received a request from an MSS member to ask if the next fund raising night could be in aid of the new lung charity that James Cook Hospital are promoting in October. There were not objections from meeting attendees.
4.0 Programme
As T12M now have a regular slot in the match day programme, it was mentioned that anyone could write the contribution on behalf of the T12M. The copy deadline is the Friday before the match.
6.0 Meeting with Gareth
A meeting has been proposed by Dave Allen for Gareth Southgate to meet with T12M. This is to encourage the relationship between the fans and club. Gareth mentions the fans on a regular basis during his post match interviews. T12M felt that it was not the best idea for Gareth to attend one of our meetings, as we are only just walking and not running yet!
It was proposed that 5 or 6 people should attend the meeting, and unanimously suggested that both John and Geoff attend.
7.0 Barclays Award Money
JD advised that T12M had been awarded £2000 by Barclays for T12M contribution as a community group.
8.0 AOB
From next month, there will be an Agenda produced by JH for each meeting, should attendees wish a topic to be discussed, they must advise JH before the meeting via the T12M email address.
JD and PC to arrange for a Constitution to be drawn up now that T12M are established - this is in no way a political statement.
GT and Steve Harland have been in touch with Wrexham T12M and may arrange to watch a game at their ground and see how they do things.
JH to try and engage a willing person to take on the website. This will start will a request through Teesside University.
