Minutes for the Twe12th Man December meeting

Held on 13th December 2007 at The Ironopolis Club, 7:30 pm.



1) Review of previous meeting.


November meeting cancelled.

2) Feedback on Twe12th Man meeting with Gareth Southgate, Dave Allan and Neil Bauser.

Geoff Thomas outlined to those present the content of the meeting and the issues discussed. Many varied topics were discussed and the club will survey fans in the New Year to find out what the major issues are. The Twe12th Man group agreed that we should encourage people to complete the survey to help affect changes for the better.

3) Updates on Flags, Legends Banner.

6 new hand held 2 stick flags have been made from excess material from the 'Spirit of Steaua' and its sister flag. As yet these have not been personalised. A vote is to be launched on the Block 17 message board, and also the face book account, for the image that will be used on the large plain red flag. It was made aware at the meeting that the floor space in the Eston and Normanby Social Club could be used for any future projects. Images for the Legends Banner would be sourced from Anthony Vickers at the Evening Gazette by Geoff Thomas and a possible completion/launch date was discussed of 29th February 2008.

4) Proposal by Rob Nichols of a Twe12th Man blog on www.fmttm.comeonboro.com.

During the discussion of this point Stuart Bookless from www.b17mb.com presented an offer to the Twe12th Man of its own web space, hosted on his site. After discussion it was decided to accept his offer and talks will continue.

5) Proposal by Dave Allan to hold a poll regarding a permanent singing section at the Riverside plus introducing a drum to games.

It was decided that the group would be in support of two separate polls and that our approval could be used in the wording of the poll. John Donovan to inform Dave Allan.

6) E-mails or letters received.

Geoff Thomas said that there were many e-mails regarding the goal celebration music poll.
7) A.O.B.

James Umpleby suggested shooting a video of all the Twe12th Man banners, flags as there are displayed at the start of a match and using it as publicity. Paddy Cronesberry was willing to do this from his position in the ground. He also mention about Twe12th Man merchandise being made. This was discussed and it was agreed that it would be possible with a new website being arranged.

Steve Harland e-mailed regarding merchandise contacts and Twe12th Man
match day volunteers. He was not at the meeting so no progress was made.

Dave Dyson e-mailed to ask if the Twe12th Man logo could be used on sponsorship forms for a future parachute jump he is doing. This item will be discussed in full at the January meeting where Dave Dyson will be present.

John Donovan suggested that the Twe12th Man should issue a group message about the clubs new PR stance and its new commercial drive. It was agreed to do this. John Donovan and Geoff Thomas to discuss.
