Venue: Dr Browns, Middlesbrough
Time: 7:30pm

Item Description Action
Opening discussions lead by Geoff Thomas to highlight potential discussions for the evening which included

" Feedback on Flags
" Legends Banner
" Closed Season
" End of Season Retro Day
" End of Season Fundraising Night
" Questionnaire

1.0 Feedback on Flags
The two flags that are now on display beside the goal at the North end of the stadium were approved by MFC on the morning of the Manchester United Game. Geoff and John were also lucky enough to meet with the Safety Rep from Middlesbrough Borough Council.

There appears to be no negative feedback around the flags, it was perceived to be a positive step forward in creating a better atmosphere and the general consensus is more flags are required.

The poles which are used with the flags need to be altered as they are bending in the wind. A suggestion was made about retractable steel poles which Julie will research.
Update 13/4: Found a 2m extendable wood effect flagpole for £11, not sure if long enough though.

The additional comments were around putting crests and logos onto flags, which was well received by all.

The flag made for the Steaua Game by Mick Dunn and his school was being auctioned, however no-body appears to know there current whereabouts of this flag. GJT or JD to contact Mick Dunn.

2.0 Legends Banner
Anthony Vickers from the Evening Gazette kindly joined the meeting and introduced his thoughts on the Legends Banner.

This was to be run in the Sports Gazette during the closed season (10 weeks). Weekly editions would feature 4 or 5 legends from their time for people to vote for, thus creating a Legends Banner to be created and displayed at the back of the East Stand.

Along side the Legends would be a picture, a few paragraphs of their time at MFC and a voting coupon. Voting could also be made via the Gazette website.

Once the votes have been made, the top 8(?) would be made and placed on the banner, with possibly their name and year.

This is a fantastic advertising opportunity for the Twe12th Man as AV will ensure the logo appears in every issue.

The banner will hopefully be created by Mick Dunn who has recently received a grant to produce a school project. JD & GJT to approach Mick to invite him to attend the next meeting or at least discuss with him what the opportunities are.

AV will also include the Legends Banner in his Blog to start the ball rolling.

AV also suggested he would run a piece on Twe12th Man's 1st Anniversary, which would include the great strides made with the club and putting down the foundations. GJT to advise AV when the first meet was.

It was felt that the Legends Banner would also cover the Closed Season activity.

3.0 End of Season Retro Day

GJT & JD to approach Dave Allen at MFC regarding a possible Retro Day at the last game of the season against Fulham on Sunday 13 May. Suggestions to include:
- possible reduction in beer/food prices
- producing a programme in the style of yesteryear
- supporters to wear 'old' shirts which would be a stepping stone to the launch of the new strip
- Mark Paige to play old football tunes

This needs to be actioned over the next few days to enable programmes and advertising to be produced.

GJT & JD

4.0 End of Season Fundraising Night
There is to be an End of Season Fundraising Night on Friday 11 May at the Eston and Normanby Social Club.

This will include a quiz, karaoke, disco, tombola, blind card etc.

Paddy Cronesberry to contact Mick Johnston of the E&N Club regarding a karaoke machine.

Posters and advertising need to be made via website, FMTTM, TFM etc.

This topic needs further discussion around logistics.

Funds raised will split between Twe12th Man and Zoes Place Baby Hospice.

5.0 Questionnaire
It was felt that a questionnaire would be a good forum to establish what the fans wanted. There is much chat over "this is a good idea" and "that wasn't a very good idea, maybe is should be…". Suggestions were:

- What would you like to see?
- What are you prepared to do to make changes?
- How do you feel about a singing section?
- What are your have any anthem ideas?
- Would you be prepared to volunteer to assist the Twe12th Man?
